"This project was a gift from 5th grade graduating class to Nothern Heights Elementary School.  The project will be a continuing work that extends down the fence with a new piece each year.  K and K Donated their time and materials to help the Northern Heights PTA to bring about this dedication.  The sculpture was presented to the delighted students at an assembly and installed the night before the last day of school."Graduating ClassClose UpClose UpGraduating Class

"A special thanks from the Staff of Northern heights, The PTA and the 54th grade class to K & K industries and Ben Kinnebrew for his own time on the cutting file preparation and for their efforts to deliver on this quality work quickly, before school was out for the summer."

This Gorgeous Gate was fabricated by K & K Industries for Architectural Elements.

I would like to thank K and K for their meticulious attention to detail and timely delivery of this custom Gateartwork. - Joe Clark

This gate was designed by Architectural Elements using the Art of GateMike Ennen, the son of the homeowners.

The art was hand drawn then scanned and meticuliously redrawn in a digital format.  The digital art file was then sent to K and K for laser cutting from high grade steel.

GateThe individual elements were then reasambled in layers and welded to the gate frame.
Once the welds were blended, the whole structure was sandblasted to yeild a uniform surface.  After sand blasting the art was hand sanded to prepare it for the multi-color patina.

Once the patina is applied it is then sprayed with 5 coats of clear laquer.Gate

The clients were quite pleased with the final Gateproduct.

This is a unique railing design fabricated by K & K Industries for Architectural Elements.

The art panels were laser cut from 3/16 in. thick steel and treated with a chemical patina and an oxide dye.  The result of the patina process is a rich, modeled dark leather finish.  The top cap is of clear cedar with a weather resistant finish.

After building traditional wood boats for 20 years we decided to branch out and build aluminum boats also. While we now have some different  materials and tools in our shop, and we make different noises while building boats, our boat design philosophy remains the same – designs based on the classic work boats look better and function better than the modern stuff.

Since there were no stock boat designs for aluminum construction which were of interest to us we started from scratch with the entire process from design and engineering to lofting and parts cutting. K&K Industries proved to be a vital and integral component of our transition. We found that not only are they very knowledgeable with materials and parts cutting, they’re well connected to related professional resources and services. We’re so pleased with the production of our first aluminum boat design that we’re currently working on the next design. In it we’re also utilizing the Press Brake forming capabilities of K&K Industries to save us even more time in the shop.

Bellingham Yachts

My experiences with K&K industries have been nothing short of remarkable. In the pleasure yacht industry the expectations are extremely high and the time frame for work completion is generally very short. The parts I’ve requested from K&K have always fit perfect, been on time, and have been completed to match our high standards of service. It’s not easy these days to find a company that is consistently dependable, and able to meet such demanding expectations. I will continue working with K&K in the future and know they will always deliver.

I have attached some photos of a custom ice maker flange Eric cut, drilled and had bent for a install on one of our new boat deliveries.

Thanks K&K   Matt Oulette                                                                                                                                                           Associate Broker/Service Manager

My son Mattias haCoreWerks breadboards severe scoliosis caused by CP.  In 2004 he was diagnosed to have spine fusion surgery to avoid collapse of his torso.  Disagreeing with the approach of using bone fusion for the treatment of a neuromuscular impairment, and seeing him attempt to sit erect during Hippotherapy, I came up with the idea of a seating system that would transfer the benefits of Hippotherapy (Therapeutic horseback riding) into his wheelchair system.

These pictures show Mattias sitting on a flat surface  and on a breadboard of the seating system.  The pictures are taken in immediate succession and show how the system encourages the sitter to assume a well balanced posture unconsciously.  During the entire time the sitter is actively engaging the core muscles along the spine through micromovements leading to greater core endurance and a healthier lower back.  The effect of the approach is dramatically different from sitting on a ball, since it successfully engages the sensory motor integration part of the human central nervous system.

After successful initial testing of the concept using "breadboards" cut out of plywood, I started working with Ben and Sandy at K & K Industries on the development of a sheet metal prototype that would actually fit into Mattias' wheelchair.  Tests with early models were so successful that we now have created an entire line of seating systems including chairs, stools and wheelchair seat inserts.  In addition to helping my son avoid spine surgery, the seating system has turned out to be beneficial for the treatment of low back pain, since it delivers core strengthening exercises while being seated and being productive.

Ben and Sandy were extremely helpful when it came to turnaround times and pricing.  They delivered excellent service on very short notice and were always willing to help out when I needed something fast to test a different configuration, as is typical for a prototyping environment.

In summary, K & K Industries was instrumental in helping me take a "wild eyed idea" into product and now into a company, CoreWerks, which is delivering a unique solution to a vast problem of modern society, Lower Back Pain.
