Press Brake

Our newest piece of equipment “Big Blue”.  It is a 12’ x 230 Ton Cincinnati Maxform Press Brake, weighing in at around 44 thousand pounds.  

This new press brake has a 5-Axis backgage and was acquired to fulfill increasing customer demand for more than our existing 6’ x 60 Ton press could do.  Since K & K Industries is a job shop, work is done for a wide variety of industries including the marine industry, manufacturing, dairy, automotive, aircraft and others.  A press brake of this size and capabilities gives K & K a larger menu of services for the customer.

“Big Blue” is highly versatile; aside from the 5-Axis backgage this brake also has open height of 29 inches and  a 22 inch stroke.  This is a feature that not all press brakes have and it gives K & K Industries the capability of doing even more precise work.   It can handle sheet metal or plate, can form complex or simple parts with ultimate precision and It has a distinct advantage over older mechanical presses as it has a quicker processing speed and a quick set up time which  leads to more productivity and lower costs for our customers.

A new foundation had to be dug for the new Press Brake.

Reinforcing and anchor bolts had to be put in before the concrete was poured.

Here at K & K Industries, our CINCINNATI AUTOFORM+ CNC Press Brake combines precision forming capabilities with leading edge control technology. The AUTOFORM+ is highly versatile. It can handle sheet metal or plate, and can form complex or simple parts with ultimate precision.

An accurate press brake requires a precision leveling system. The AUTOFORM + meets this requirement by having a .00002" resolution glass scale encoder mounted on each side of the housing. Ram repeatability is verified at maximum forming speed to be within  ± 0.0004"  (3 Sigma) along the entire length of the press brake.
